This Professor Thintwhistle painting is from the contents page of the December 1980 HEAVY METAL, and the only painted illustration I've done that's seen print so far (I usually don't have the patience to handle paintings).
It was originally done during a heat wave when my air conditioner had broken down: I was stationed
between two electric fans and two blocks of ice for the four days it took me to complete it.
